Carson Wen, BBS, JP

Carson Wen is the Founder of Bank of Asia (BVI) Limited and BOA International Financial Group Limited. He has practiced law for over 30 years at his own Hong Kong partnership and subsequently as partner at leading global law firms, retiring from Jones Day at the end of 2016. 

In his long professional career he handled the capital markets entry of the first PRC-controlled Hong Kong listed company Guangdong Investment, the first window company to be directly listed Guangnan Holdings, some of the first PRC private enterprises to be listed via the “round-trip investment” structure which became standard practice, and some of the first “VIE” structures which also became standard practice. He has also handled many complexly structured transactions as a mergers and acquisitions lawyer. He was regularly listed in the likes of “Who’s Who in the Law” and “Chambers”.

Mr. Wen was a three-term Deputy to the National People’s Congress of China, which is the PRC’s national legislature and constitutionally the highest organ of state power, representing Hong Kong. He is also a Justice of the Peace of Hong Kong and held various public service appointments in Mainland China and Hong Kong. He was Vice-Chairman and currently Party Affairs Advisor of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (“DAB”), the largest political party in Hong Kong.

Mr. Wen is a member of the Executive Council of the Sustainable Business Network of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and former Chairman of its Task Force on Green Business. He is also a Director of the Pacific Basin Economic Council. He is also, inter alia, a Founding Director of the China M&A Association.

Mr. Wen was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government for his contribution to economic ties between Hong Kong, Mainland China and the rest of the world.

Mr. Wen obtained his B.A. from Columbia University, where he majored in economics, and B.A. and M.A. from Balliol College, Oxford University, where he studied law and was Younger Prizeman in Law for 1976.

Mr. Wen is an Independent Non-Executive Director of NYSE-listed Phoenix New Media, a media company and HKSE-listed Winox Holdings, an industrial enterprise, and Supervisor of HKSE-listed PICC, a leading Chinese insurance company.

Ian Wen

Mr. Ian Wen Is The Chairman Of BOA Financial Group, Founder Of Soteria Capital, And An Experienced Hong Kong Solicitor. Mr. Wen Obtained His Bachelor Of Arts In Philosophy (B.A.) From Columbia University, Bachelor Of Laws (LL.B.) From London University And Master Of Laws (LL.M. In Chinese Law) From Peking University.

After Returning To Hong Kong, Mr. Wen Trained And Practiced Law In Leading International Law Firms. His Legal Practice Covered Corporate Law With Particular Expertise In Merger And Acquisition, Corporate Reorganisation, And Corporate Finance In Cross-Border And Multi-Jurisdictional Contexts.

Due To His Passion For Fintech, Mr. Wen Joined BOA Financial Group And Leads The Group’s FinTech Business And BOA Innovation Lab Which Successfully Developed Advanced Human Voice Realistic Text-To-Speech (TTS) Technologies In Both English And Chinese Based On The Use Of Artificial Intelligence And Deep-Learning Enabled GAN Model. These Technologies Are Currently Used By Bank Of Asia (BVI) For Its Customer Onboarding Process.

Mr. Wen Also Founded Soteria Capital Which Holds A Subsidiary Licensed By The Securities And Futures Commission Of Hong Kong To Carry On Type 9 Regulated Activities. Soteria Capital Forms A Symbiotic Financial Ecosystem With Fintech Banks And Other Financial Institutions, Especially In The ASEAN Region, And Leverages On BOA’s Exclusive Network And Connections, Private Equity Funds, Asset Managers And Family Offices To Source Cross-Border Business Opportunities And Maximize Investors’ Return.

Michael Leung, MH

Prior to his current engagement, Mr. Leung was the CIO & COO of China CITIC Bank International, and a Board Member of the Bank’s China entity. He was the Deputy Chief Executive of Bank of America / China Construction Bank (Asia), and a senior manager of Standard Chartered Bank and DBS.

Previously Mr. Leung worked for Philips, IBM, CSA and PWC in Europe, US and Australia.Mr. Leung is an Engineering Faculty’s Distinguished Alumni Award recipient of the Chinese University of HK, and completed his Master’s degree in The Netherlands on a Philips scholarship. He holds a graduate diploma in Bank Management from the University of Virginia in the US. Mr. Leung is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration study on a part-time basis.

The public duties Mr. Leung has served or is serving include President of HK Computer Society, Executive Committee Member and FinTech Committee Chair of HK Institute of Bankers, Adjunct Professor and Information Systems Departmental Advisory Committee Chair of City University of HK, Industry Specialist and Panel Chair of HK Council of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, Chairman of HK Down Syndrome Association, member of the Business and Economics Panel of University Grants Committee, Director of the HK Cyberport, among others.

Deputy Chief Executive Office

Angela Wong

Angela Wong has extensive global experience in running operations in the North America, Europe, Greater China and Asia markets. Ms. Wong worked as the General Manager and Chief Accountant for JCL Merchandising Company in the US which owned 14 retail shops nationwide from 1994 to 1997. 

She was also the Chief Financial Officer of Body Glove Inc. from 1997 to 2005 and she was relocated from the USA to Hong Kong to handle all Body Glove businesses for Asian countries in 2001. Ms. Wong was also the Chief Operating Officer of Mondi GmbH, a German luxury brand, from 2005 to 2011.She took care of the brand’s operation and business in over 25 countries. She worked as Chief Operating Officer for Milan Station Holdings Limited whose shares are listed on the Main Board of the HK Stock Exchange (Stock Code 1150) from 2012 to 2015. She started her own consulting company in 2015 and have her e-commerce business started in 2016 called Skyimart that was specialized in selling of homeware products online which are 100% made from Italy under exclusive rights. Ms. Wong joined BOA Financial Group in 2017 as Chief Financial Officer while in 2021, she was promoted to the new role as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. She has a vast experience in financial and management control in which she also worked closely with legal to ensure organization meets with regulatory and financial compliance.
Ms. Wong graduated from Golden Gate University in San Francisco with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1994. She was awarded a degree of Master of Science in Finance from The Bernard Baruch College of City University of New York in 2003.

Kenneth Yiu

Mr. Yiu was engaged as a consultant of Bank of Asia prior to assuming the responsibilities of CFO. He was the Financial Controller and Alternate Chief Executive of Bank of America (Asia). He has been working in the banking field over 30 years, including local and multinational banks, namely Kredietbank, Fubon Bank, Hang Seng Bank and OCBC Wing Hang Bank.

Mr. Yiu Graduated From The Hong Kong Polytechnic (Now Known As The Hong Kong Polytechnic University) In Accountancy. He Became The Fellow Member Of The Association Of Chartered Certified Accountants In 1991.

Mr. Yiu Obtained His Degree Of Master Of Business Administration From The University Of Warwick. He Was A Graduate Of The Graduate School Of Retail Bank Management Of The McIntire School Of Commerce At The University Of Virginia.

Head Of Business

Robin Chan

Prior to joining BOA Financial Group, Robin was Head of Business Management for Australia & New Zealand Bank’s (ANZ) North Asia’s Wealth business, where he assisted in re-building the teams to over 50 bankers in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan and leading the business to profitability.

He also led and successfully implemented numerous local and region strategic systems/IT integrations projects with projects size ranging from USD40m to USD850m.

During Robin’s tenure at ANZ, he also held the role of Head of Business Assurance for the Retail and Private Bank Hong Kong where he planned, re-defined and supervised all assurance, risk and compliance activities for all front-line sales staff.

Before ANZ, Robin was Business Manager for UBS AG Asia Pacific CEO’s office planning and executing strategic projects for the region. Prior to this role, he was a Desk Head for the Hong Kong Wealth Management team, managing a portfolio of HNW clients and a team of Relationship Managers with assets under management of over CHF1.2b.

Robin received his Master of Business Administration degree and Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto. He is also a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) from the Global Association of Risk Professionals.

Head Of Information Technology

Hoi Ling Chung

Mr. Chung has extensive experience in the technology sector with involvement in a number of large-scale transformation projects in the financial service sector including bancassurance integration project, divestment project, multi-country business transformation projects.

Prior to joining the BOA Financial Group, Mr. Chung served companies of various size and industries including the financial service, technology, public sector, fast moving consumer products and construction equipment through his work in the consulting industry.

Having worked in a variety of roles in projects of a wide-ranging nature, Mr. Chung has gained a broad perspective of the many different aspects of technology, from strategy and planning, solution design, development and testing, as well as application and infrastructure architecture.

His work has been recognized by his peers having been awarded the

  • Hong Kong Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) Award; and
  • British Computer Society (BCS) IT Award

Mr. Chung holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Computing.

Calvin Ching

Prior to joining BOA Financial Group, Calvin had been appointed as HKMA approved Alternative Chief Executive in three banks, namely Commerzbank Bank AG, KEB Hana Bank, Hana Bank in the past 10 years. During his days in Commerzbank AG as Head of Banking Operations and Head of Organisation & Security,

he successfully rebuilt the operation team and established the guidelines to comply the regulatory requirements.

Calvin had worked in KEB Hana Bank Hong Kong Branch for 21 years. In his last role as Senior Manager, Back Office and Operations, he picked up the responsibility in setting up a new operation team and led the team to be a reputable operation unit which was highly-recognized in the Hong Kong banking industry.

Calvin worked in various financial institutions and computer hardware manufacturing company before he joined Banco Central Hispanoamericano SA, Hong Kong Bank, where he started his career in banking.

Calvin gained his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration at Columbia Southern University, USA.

Henry Price

Henry Price is currently a research postgraduate associated with the Theoretical Physics group and the Centre for Complexity Science at Imperial College London. He has been researching cryptocurrency since 2015 while spotting parallels in Quantum gravity and Directed Acyclic Graphs. An expert on cryptoassets, complexities of the spot/derivatives and futures markets in Bitcoin.

Henry has obtained degrees in physics with theoretical physics (ICL) and mathematics and financial modelling and is currently an advisor to several groups concerning cryptoassets, data science and distributed ledger technology, actively researching cryptocurrency, network theory, and blockchain technology Imperial College and other university research groups.

Andy Chan

Andy Chan is the CEO of ROHQ (Regional Operating Headquarters). He is the senior executive in charge of the company’s sales efforts and commercial system development. Since joining BOA Financial Group, he progressed through various positions and currently leads a global team focused on growing premium revenue, enhancing B2B and B2C experience.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Chan has nearly 30 years of industry experience in sales, business development, and management consultancy. Prior to joining BOA Financial Group, Mr. Chan held various leadership positions at different organizations in some of the fastest-growing economies such as Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Vietnam. Mr. Chan has deep expertise in collaborating with leading companies in various areas such as Octopus, MCI Worldcom, Tradelink, CNNIC, Baidu, etc.
